Installing the extension
While it is in alpha it is not in the browser stores, so you install the build we send you by hand. It takes about a minute per browser, and you only do it once.
From the ZIP
1. Unzip the file we sent. Keep that folder somewhere permanent. If you delete it, the
extension goes with it.
2. Open chrome://extensions and switch on
Developer mode, top right.
3. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
4. Pin it from the puzzle-piece icon so it is one click away.
From the signed add-on
1. Save the .xpi file we sent.
2. Open about:addons.
3. Click the gear icon, then Install Add-on From File, and pick the
.xpi.
4. Mozilla has signed it, so it stays installed when you restart. No developer mode needed.
Activating your key
- Paste the key
- Open the popup. If it asks for a key, paste the one we sent and press Activate. It looks like ALD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
- If it does not ask
- Then your build already carries its key. The bottom of the popup says who it was issued to. Nothing for you to do.
- Two browsers
- One key covers two browsers, or four on Agency. Laptop and desktop, or Chrome and Firefox. Go past that and it refuses, and tells you exactly why.
- Checking it worked
- Open the Meta Ads Library and search for anything at all. Every card should pick up a Download button under See ad details. If nothing appears, reload the page once. That fixes it nine times out of ten.
- Trial builds
- A trial shows the days remaining at the top of the popup. When it runs out the extension stops and says so. It stays installed, so coming back later costs you nothing.
